^les^aResumen El presente trabajo de investigación, se realizó en la Comunidad Chirioco cantón Patamanta del Municipio de Pucarani, con el objetivo de evaluar el efecto de suplementación con borra de cerveza y maíz amarillo sobre el engorde de toretes pastoreados en pradera nativa, con tres diferentes raciones durante la época de transición (Abril, Mayo y Junio). Se han utilizado 9 toretes mestizo Holstein de 2 años de edad aproximadamente. El diseño utilizado para el incremento de peso vivo diario y rendimiento de la canal fue diseño completo al azar. El promedio de incremento de peso vivo diario fue de 1.21 kg para la ración III), 0.99 kg para la ración II y 0.74 kg para la ración I. El requerimiento promedio de la cantidad de agua de un torete para producir 1 kg de carne fue de 95 L. El rendimiento de la canal de toretes alimentados con diferentes raciones fue de 49.6 %, 49.7 % y 50.1 % con las raciones I, II y III respectivamente. Los valores reportados señalan que no existen diferencias significativas, lo que puede atribuirse a que los tratamientos no fueron homogéneos, ya que los toretes presentaban una variación de peso en 60 Kg, al igual de la distancia de recorrido para el pastoreo.^len^aAbstract The present research work was carried out in the Chirioco Canton Patamanta Community of the Municipality of Pucarani, with the objective of evaluating the effect of supplementation with beer and yellow corn on fattening of bulls grazed on native pasture, with three different rations during the time of transition (April, May and June). 9 Holstein mestizo bulls of approximately 2 years of age have been used. The reported valúes indícate that there are no significant differences, which can be attributed to the fact that the treatments were not homogeneous, since the bulls had a weight variation of 60 kg, as well as the distance traveled for grazing.
