In this article explores the configuration of regional power in Cochabamba running from the colony until the end of the twentieth century. The purpose of this historical view is to emphasize the continuities and ruptures that occurred in the social fabric of Cochabamba. Social processes (migration and miscegenation) and the processes of mercantile exchange were decisive factors for the configuration of a popular bloc which that became social actors of accommodation and resistance to the local elites.
