Abstract

The research of the Bolivian plant Baccharis santelices gave the isolation of the esther methyl (E)-3-prenyl-4-hydroxycinamate, a derivative of p-coumaric acid with high antioxidant capacity (TEAC 3,4) comparable to the reference compound quercetine, which structure was identified by 1D and 2D NMR techniques. In addition, we identified oleanolic acid and stigmasterol, two common compounds in plants of the Bolivian Andean region.
