Abstract
CORTEZ FERNANDEZ, Claudia. Amphibians in Zongo valley (La Paz, Bolivia): II. Richness, abundance and composition. Ecología en Bolivia [online]. 2009, vol.44, n.2, pp.121-130. ISSN 1605-2528.
The objective of this study was to contribute to the knowledge on the richness, composition and abundance of the amphibian fauna in the valley of Zongo. Nineteen species were found, including 5 endemic species and 4 posible new records. The composition of the amphibian population in Zongo is similar to that found in the Carrasco National Park and its Area of Integrated Management (PNANMI-Carrasco), and in the Cotapata National Park and its Area of Integrated Management (PNANMI-Cotapata). Abundance was also low to, with a few individuals per species. The activity was low too, even in the reproductive season, despite favourable environmental conditions.
