Abstract

In this article we present reflections about the contributions of environmental education as a space for political formation necessary to the current socio-environmental conflicts. So we expose historical perspective of the different conceptions of development, since economic notions to the current on the central place of participation and the construction of citizenship as a condition for local development. Theoretical reflections are made on the basis of a case study in the capital of the province of Salta. This study focused on the analysis of the first public politic for differentiated collection of the domestic waste in the city. We worked with the following subjects: participative projects planning, social capital, role of communicator and the media as promoters of development.
