Abstract

TORRICO VILLANUEVA, Erick R.. The place of decoloniality in the Latin American communication field. Punto Cero [online]. 2022, vol.27, n.44, pp.13-25.  Epub June 30, 2022. ISSN 1815-0276.  https://doi.org/10.35319/puntocero.202244188.

The article questions the place that decoloniality has in the structure of the communicational field, and to establish it this article develops a topology based on Pierre Bourdieu’s field theory and sociology of practice. In this framework, it compares the scope of the English notions of “field” and the French of “champ” and makes a brief account of the uses of the concept of “campo” in specialized reference bibliography. Subsequently, it presents a synthesis of the pertinent conceptual tools in order to propose a topological analysis that, immediately afterwards, describes the different components identified, their hierarchies, positions and interrelationships. Finally, it poses that decolonial communication represents a relevant factor for the possible redefinition of the examined field.
