Abstract

MAYORGA, Fernando. Dialogue-Reforming the Stateprocesses, projects, challenges. Tinkazos [online]. 2010, vol.13, suppl.1, pp.61-88. ISSN 1990-7451.

Two dialogues between distinguished intellectuals aim to shed light on the contours of the reform of the state in Bolivia at a time of transition. In the first, Fernando Calderón shares his view of the context, analysing the political changes under way in Latin America and the decline of a democratic model centred on political parties. In the second, Carlos Valverde, José Mirtembaum and George Gray discuss the need to strengthen the state and the challenge of efficient state management.

Keywords : State reform; structural reforms; nation-state; market state; decentralization; autonomies; indigenism; nationalism.
