Abstract

This research analyzes the relationship between production systems and fair trade in the Association of agricultural producers PROAGROCIU of the parish of San Luis, Ecuador. Production systems are studied as a mechanism of local production whose population practice is important, given the traditional characteristics of the area; on the other hand, fair trade is approached as a direct marketing strategy to final consumers in conditions of production and fair prices; the human being is made visible in the productive space, the sample reaches 40 agricultural producers that make up the Association to whom a survey is applied that made it possible to interpret and establish the main conclusions, such as the relationship between local productive systems and the practice of trade fair, as a characteristic and traditional of the region. Agricultural production based on a traditional productive system is reflected as an important value in the configuration of fair trade.
