Abstract

CESPEDES LOPEZ, Jairo Beymar  and  MENDOZA VEGA, Camila Alejandra. Base appreciations to stimulate stock-market operations in developing markets in Latin America. Perspectivas [online]. 2024, n.53, pp.9-30.  Epub May 30, 2024. ISSN 1994-3733.

Most of the countries in Latin America have stock exchanges, some of them with an important and complete magnitude in financial terms, and others are still developing, either in terms of trading amounts, multiplicity of operations, financial instruments traded, markets and other aspects inherent to the stock exchange operation. This state of development implies in some cases the loss of investment opportunities, financing, market development and different factors derived from purely economic concepts. This article analyzes the current situation of Latin American stock exchanges with statistical data and generates a discussion on possible strategic alternatives that can contribute to the development of their operations. This assertion is centered on the review of reliable market information, critically analyzing the data and generating a critical position on the situation and future of the financial markets in Latin America.
