Abstract

QUILLA MUNI, Felipe Néstor  and  WIND, Astrid. Educación Comunitaria:Una mirada comparativa a la vivencia y práctica de los pueblos indígenas. Rev. de Inv. Educ. [online]. 2011, vol.4, n.2, pp.57-70. ISSN 1997-4043.

ABSTRACT Community education is the oldest form of education; however, under the colonial, capitalist and neoliberal regimes, the indigenous nations were denied their rights for a relevant education, one that is based on their worldview and culture. En recent decades, various indigenous nations have developed their own models of community education. This article presents a panorama of successful models in various countries of the world and discusses with some detail the community education in the Kallawaya Nation of the north of La Paz, Bolivia.

Keywords : community education; Kallawaya; Mori; Yupiaq; Yup'ik; Diné; Dené.
