Abstract

GUENDEL, Ludwig. Thoughts on the concept of Vivir Bien and human rights: a pragmatic point of view. Rev. de Inv. Educ. [online]. 2012, vol.5, n.3, pp.133-156. ISSN 1997-4043.

This arricie reflects on tensions and complexitíes related to the concept of Vivir Bien, it goes over the trends from which it gets nourished and the conceptualization, emphasizing its political and cultural validity in countries going through political and social transformations, specifically Ecuador and Bolivia. The author highlights the existing paradoxes about this topic, since Vivir Bien is a non- modern speech compelled to be translated into the operational level through social rational tools. However, this should not be an unsolvable contradiction, but the drive to make Vivir Bien the ethical, moral and ideological basis for the construction of a newknowledge management and implementation of public policies. Therefore, new debates need to be produced, complex problems need to be addressed and new articulations need to be Consolidated in order for the Vivir Bien to stop being just a concept and to become the base of a new social, political and environmental engineering.
