Abstract
CORONEL BERRIOS, Franz Harold. Education in values as a methodological strategy to counteract school violence types: the Cuban experience. Rev. de Inv. Educ. [online]. 2013, vol.6, n.2, pp.101-114. ISSN 1997-4043.
This document considers an international outlook in relation to school violence through the use of statistical sources of information. Starting with the review of quantitative data, it could be established that the country with the lowest rates of school violence in Latin America is the Republic of Cuba. These rates result from several factors, including economic, political, legal, social and cultural. The article takes specifically into account education and, particularly, education in values. For this purpose, the 7* and 8* National Workshops for teachers that took place in November 2 006 will be analyzed. These workshops were addressed to all teachers in Cuba and its main topic was education in values, to which several researchers contributed with a theoretical basis and the development of practical experiences focused in the development of an education in values, which will be described in this article.
