The early years of childhood are the most important in the lives of people period, because they are the basis of their physical, psychological and social overall development. Also, the educational possibilities of young children are forged long before they enter primary school. Cognitive, linguistic and social skills are developed from the first months of life and are the basis for further learning and for life. This paper is the result of a theoretical research in favor of prioritization of care and education in early childhood, justifying the vital importance of this stage of life, more than any other in human development and future well-being of everyone. The article includes current and relevant data and indicators on the situation of early childhood in Bolivia, Latin America and the world, and the arguments that support the prioritization of this stage of life.
