Abstract

CABALLERO, Luis. Rural-urban migration: generational discrimination in Sucre. Rev. Cien. Tec. In. [online]. 2019, vol.17, n.19, pp.67-82. ISSN 2225-8787.

Abstract Discrimination is a culturally constructed behavior and almost universal biological nature. Given the lack of studies about on this phenomenon in the city of Sucre. The objective of this research characterizes discrimination in this city and determines its most important features in neighbors of Sucre through a qualitative approach from the protagonists themselves. We worked with three focus groups formed by 45 neighbors, and 16 interviews were selected according to the three axes in which the problem of discrimination is determined a priori: migration, cholification and alterity. There is evidence of discrimination related to migrants, cholos identified with the indians, peasants and older adults producing an alterity in the given historical-political-social links in relation to the urban-rural spaces. The article contains: Introduction, Method, Analysis and Discussion, Results, May 24, 2008, the Law 045 and Conclusions.

Keywords : Alterity; Older adult; and Rural urban.
