Abstract The environmental crisis is one of the great international and national problems afflicting mankind, which is why various sectors of thought have formulated their verdict on the implications it entails. Since environmental conservation has become a category of prime importance for international organizations and state units, some nations have chosen to respond to the environmental crisis by constitutionalizing environmental law. This was the case of Ecuador, Bolivia and the Dominican Republic, States that will be approached in order to analyze the importance of the constitutional response to the environmental situation we are going through in the second decade of the twentieth century
