Abstract

NAVARRO TORRES, Vidal Félix; VELOSO FERREIRA, Fabiano  and  ALBUQUERQUE DE CARVALHO, Victor. Evaluation of induced vibration and its effects on buildings in a community near a large iron ore mine. REV. MAMYM [online]. 2024, vol.9, n.1, pp.3-12. ISSN 2519-5352.

Abstract Rock blasting is one of the activities commonly carried out in open-pit mining. Despite their benefits for the progress of activities in the mine, blasting has some deleterious effects such as induced vibrations and acoustic pressure, making this topic of great relevance to the general community. Among the various methodologies for estimating the propagation of waves along the underground, there is the development of attenuation laws. This work will address the impacts of induced vibrations generated by explosive rock blasting and their possible effects on buildings near the pit of a large iron ore mine.

Keywords : Damage; buildings; community; open pit mine; drill-and-blasting; vibrations.
