The present research aims to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and academic achievement in adolescents from a public institution in Lima. The study has a quantitative approach, the type of research is basic cross-sectional, and follows a hypothetical-deductive methodology. The hypothesis was tested through nonparametric methods suitable for measuring the correlation of variables, using Spearman's Rho statistic. The technique employed was the survey; the instrument used was the Self-Efficacy Scale questionnaire of the Canadian psychologist Albert Bandura (2006). The self-efficacy test consisted of 18 items that considered three dimensions, 6 cost indicators on a numerical scale from 1 to 6 with high, medium and low levels. According to the results, the correlation coefficient between the variables is 0.011, revealing that the correlation between the variables is low. In addition, the significance of p value is equal to 0.907 (p>0.05), so it is concluded that there is no significant relationship between academic performance and self-efficacy in students in an educational institution in Lima.
