Abstract

The present study aimed to determine the incidence of self-esteem and personality in nomophobia in students of a secondary school in Lima. The research was of a basic type, with an explanatory level, of non-experimental design, causal correlation. The population was 689 students and the sample was 247 students. The instruments used in were: the NMP-Q nomophobia questionnaire, the Rosenberg self-esteem scale, the Eysenck personality inventory. The instruments were validated by expert judgment, for reliability a pilot test was carried out with 18 students. According to the results obtained, it is concluded that self-esteem and personality do not have a significant impact on nomophobia in students of a secondary school in Lima, since the level of adjustment is statistically not significant (Wald 0.079 <4 and p value: 0.778 > α: 0.05).
