The educational policies, generated by the Ministry of Education of Ecuador, during the COVID-19 pandemic focused on deploying online education strategies so that teachers and students could continue with the teaching and learning processes. This research aims to describe online education in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic from the perception of 40 teachers from an educational institution in Guayaquil, Ecuador. It is a descriptive research; the data collection was carried out through a case design. The technique to collect the data was the survey and the instrument was a questionnaire to identify the perception of teachers about the online teaching and learning processes. As a result, teachers perceive that there are difficulties in their training to use Information Technology for teaching and guide their students in learning.
