Abstract

SUAREZ LEANDRO, Orlando. Relevance of the Institutional Educational Project in the face of the socio-cultural demands of the community. Horizontes Rev. Inv. Cs. Edu. [online]. 2022, vol.6, n.24, pp.879-885.  Epub June 30, 2022. ISSN 2616-7964.  https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v6i24.382.

Education must be in permanent change according to the advances of society; one of the tools is medium and long-term planning. The objective was to know the relevance of the Institutional Educational Project (IEP) in the face of community demands. From a qualitative approach that applies the case study method and document analysis of the National Educational Project, Regional Educational Project, Local Educational Project and IEP to compare with the demands of the context, through interviews with educational actors. It appears that the PEI does not recognize the demands of the community; these demands led to the improvement of their economic activities: agriculture and livestock, strengthening their cultural identity and promoting tourist resources as sources of economic income. The other projects had the limitation of prioritizing only aspects such as inclusion, coexistence, citizen and democratic participation and the priority demands of rural communities.

Keywords : Institutional educational project; Communal demands; Pedagogical relevance; Rural school; Cultural identity.
