Abstract

MUNOZ CUCHCA, Edward. Virtual environment for the learning of students of Basic Secondary Education: Prospective look. Horizontes Rev. Inv. Cs. Edu. [online]. 2022, vol.6, n.24, pp.999-1009.  Epub June 30, 2022. ISSN 2616-7964.  https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v6i24.392.

The pandemic caused by Covid-19 abruptly transformed the way teachers and students teach and learn. Faced with this situation, the alternative of virtual educational service arose, highlighting the need to implement Virtual Learning Environments (VLE). The objective of this study was to determine the conditions for the future implementation of a VLE based on the current perception of students. For this purpose, a mixed research approach was used, through which the perception of VLEs was obtained in a quantitative way in a non-probabilistic purposive sample of 41 students of basic secondary education, to whom an interview was also applied to obtain complementary qualitative data. The results indicated that students have a high perception of the success of virtual environments for learning, which leads to the conclusion that there is a propitious scenario for the implementation of VLEs that will generate hybrid learning in the future.
