Abstract

ASCENCIO GONZALES, Joel Alberto et al. Digital competencies: Perceptions of educational institution managers in times of pandemic. Horizontes Rev. Inv. Cs. Edu. [online]. 2022, vol.6, n.25, pp.1395-1408.  Epub Sep 14, 2022. ISSN 2616-7964.  https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v6i25.421.

The digital competence of the manager is a construct of great demand in the contexts of a pandemic and the digitization of education in general. The study aims to characterize the perspectives of managers of educational institutions on digital competencies, in a sample of principals (n=46), and the perceptions they have in their educational work. The study is quantitative at a descriptive level, using a survey based on 26 questions. It is highlighted that the perception is favorable towards digital competencies. Executives leading rural and urban schools have developed an efficient management. In this sense, it can be affirmed that the perception of the development of digital competencies, in the context of the pandemic, is a strength that guarantees the quality of the educational service.
