Abstract

In the performance of the new world economy, knowledge is considered as one of the main resources of organizations, so its management has become a key strategy for their development. This study analyzes knowledge management in higher education institutions. A systematic review was conducted using the PRISMA protocol, collecting 17 articles from the databases Scopus, Web of Science, Scielo, for the selection of the articles were taken into account criteria of correspondence, keywords such as knowledge management and higher education institutions; criteria of topicality: years 2017-2021. As a conclusion, it can be seen that knowledge management is definitely a strategic tool for Higher Education Institutions, in their purpose of generating sustainable competitive advantages in the functions of teaching, research and social extension.
