Abstract

Learning communities in secondary level educational institutions, which is a current trend applied by teachers to improve their work practice by exchanging experiences and educational material, while at the same time addressing problems that affect student learning. Thus, the objective was to identify the importance of learning communities in secondary educational institutions and their influence on the improvement of teachers' skills and student learning. A bibliographic review of the last 10 years was developed, 40 documents were reviewed, selecting 30 of them. It was concluded that the learning community is a space for the exchange of experiences and knowledge to strengthen, improve, impart, extend and achieve educational quality by improving the capabilities of all members. The family is essential in its participation and the teachers participate by making contributions to the improvement of educational practice.
