Managerial leadership plays a vital role in educational development, so that its capacity, positive, proactive and transforming vision, will have an impact on educational outcomes. Thus, the objective of the article was to analyze managerial leadership in the educational process through a systematic review of studies of the last 5 years considering a database Scopus, Scielo, Dialnet and Ebsco. It was found that the more knowledge and experience the managers have, the greater their leadership capacity and management skills. It is concluded that managerial leadership is fundamental in the art of managing organizations and teachers, it seeks to promote professional development, follow-up, feedback and evaluation.
