Burnout syndrome can affect the health not only of teachers, but also of students. The objective was to relate burnout syndrome with self-confidence in professors at a Peruvian university in a COVID-19 pandemic. A basic study was carried out under a descriptive, correlational design. We worked with a simple random sample equal to 400 teachers surveyed. The results obtained in the analysis of the burnout syndrome variable and the emotional exhaustion dimension were a high level of 13.3%, with respect to depersonalization which was 18.30% also with a high level, while 97.30% presented a medium level of personal frustration. The correlation between Burnout Syndrome and was -0.005. It was concluded that there is a weak correlation between the variables and further studies are needed to establish that burnout should be addressed by the university institution.
