Teacher performance is a relevant aspect in the framework of pedagogical improvement, especially in regular basic education. It has always been said that having good teachers in an institution motivates students to improve their skills, based on a direct relationship with parents. In view of this situation, the objective of this study is to analyze teacher performance in regular basic education. For this purpose, we worked under the design of a bibliographic review, considering as main categories teaching performance and basic education, the analysis was carried out through a qualitative approach. For the selection of information, theses, published articles from primary sources, books, among others, were considered. Finally, teacher performance under any context should be monitored considering two aspects such as continuity and comprehensive training.
