Abstract

MORA TEVES, Jakeline et al. Development of competencies in the pedagogical practice of regular basic education teachers. Horizontes Rev. Inv. Cs. Edu. [online]. 2023, vol.7, n.30, pp.1833-1845.  Epub July 24, 2023. ISSN 2616-7964.  https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v7i30.632.

A competency-based approach has been developed for a long time, however, positive results have not been seen; therefore, the objective of this study is to describe the development of competencies in the pedagogical practice of basic education teachers. A quantitative, descriptive study was carried out, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design; the sample consisted of 310 basic education teachers; a questionnaire was applied using the survey technique, which was validated by 5 experts, to specify the dimensions of the teacher's pedagogical practice in the development of competencies. Finally, it was identified that 49.3% of educators have disciplinary mastery, but show difficulties in putting them into practice, 64.5% carry out curricular planning based on the initial diagnosis, 75.2% put into practice formative evaluation and 64.2% consider it important to carry out collegial work. It is concluded that it is necessary to strengthen professional competencies for teachers as tools to develop competencies in the classroom.
