Teacher monitoring, when done effectively, can require additional time and resources. This can be a challenge in environments where teachers already face a high workload. For the purpose of this study is to analyze the role of teacher monitoring in regular basic education. A bibliographic review was carried out based on the deductive method, the searches were conducted in databases and platforms such as Scielo, Scopus, and academic repositories were also used. The search criteria used were studies from 2019-2022, relevance of the topic, methodological approaches. It is concluded that the role of teacher monitoring is to promote continuous improvement of teaching and learning, providing teachers with valuable feedback, identifying areas for development and ensuring that educational quality standards are met. This process is essential for the success of educational institutions and the achievement of educational objectives.
