Abstract

MATTOS, Miguel Ángel Castro; TABOADA, Máximo Abel Rodríguez  and  ASTO, José Luis Valdez. Equity and inclusion in public policies related to higher education in the Andean Community. Horizontes Rev. Inv. Cs. Edu. [online]. 2023, vol.7, n.30, pp.2115-2124.  Epub July 24, 2023. ISSN 2616-7964.  https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v7i30.652.

The educational offer of universities in the countries of the Andean Community (CAN) grew, however, it did not benefit all social strata since they were not regulated by public policies that promote equity and inclusion. The objective of the study was to identify the development of equitable and inclusive higher education in the CAN. For this purpose, a bibliometric study was carried out using bibliometrix. Then, a comparative analysis of the main educational public policies was carried out. Eighteen sources originating in the CAN were selected, where it was established that there are more studies on this topic in Colombia and Ecuador. Most of the studies agreed that equity is present in the early stages of the educational process, i.e., university entrance. It is concluded that there is research that promotes equity and inclusion in university entrance, and that it is related to the constitutional and legal framework in the countries of the Andean Community.
