The purpose of this research is to demonstrate the contribution of Big Data in agriculture, where it has been possible to observe different advantages, one of them is that it allows the handling of the volumes of data that are collected and stored for later treatment. Besides, Big Data has addressed issues such as precision agriculture, which details the process for collecting data that are very useful in this sector, as well as the relationship of the Internet of Things (IoT), another good point is that it is linked to data filtering software tools such as Hadoop and IBM tools. It is worth mentioning that this research is given in a descriptive way, therefore, it shows a qualitative approach that starts in the search for bibliographic information from reliable sites, where information has been selected in a relevant way, which is related to the benefit of Big Data in precision agriculture, in addition, the study mentions that Big Data is the replacement of traditional methods for verifying the status of crops. The key is that it identifies a disease in a crop thanks to tools that provide complete information.
