Abstract

AMES, Alberto Vergara et al. Agro-productive chains for sustainable agricultural development in Huancavelica. Rev. Inv. Cs. Agro. y Vet. [online]. 2023, vol.7, n.19, pp.117-129.  Epub Apr 19, 2023. ISSN 2664-0902.  https://doi.org/10.33996/revistaalfa.v7i19.202.

The challenges for agro-productive chains are framed in terms of efficiency, not only in terms of costs but also in terms of their capacity to adapt to changes in the environment. The objective of this study is to analyze the activities of the six main agricultural production chains in Huancavelica and their influence on the economic dimension of sustainable agricultural development in the province of Huancavelica. The state of the art was compiled, both in the heuristic and hermeneutic phase, on agro-productive chains and their relationship with sustainable agricultural development, using the Google Scholar search engine with search equations and Boolean operators, and then a survey was conducted using a structured questionnaire of 12 questions to a convenience sample of 60 agricultural producers in the province of Huancavelica. Given the high level of competition faced by these chains, internal and external evaluations are necessary for their constitution with planning in the storage, classification and industrialization phases, which are currently still being carried out manually, and the support received from professional organizations that promote industrialization, trade and production is still insufficient. Among the conclusions, it is highlighted that, thanks to the agro-productive chains, sustainable agricultural development in its economic dimension has a sustainability index of IDS = 0.53 in Huancavelica, which is equivalent to the qualification as an unstable system status, so the implementation of a new model of technological management in the processes of these chains is still needed, and the use of new technologies and tools in the whole process is urgent.
