Abstract
PEREIRA, Wilfrido Daniel Lugo et al. Nitrogen application in the corn crop in different phenological stages. Rev. Inv. Cs. Agro. y Vet. [online]. 2023, vol.7, n.19, pp.240-254. Epub Apr 19, 2023. ISSN 2664-0902. https://doi.org/10.33996/revistaalfa.v7i19.213.
The cultivation of corn is very important in Paraguay, being the main item of producers in the area, for this reason it is necessary to apply nitrogen fertilizer to increase production, as well as the importance of the moment of application. The objective of the work was to evaluate the application of nitrogen in different phenological stages in the corn crop. The experiment was carried out in Santa Elena, District of Belén, Department of Concepción, Paraguay. The experiment carried out used a randomized complete block design (DBCA), with a factorial scheme (4 x 4), where factor A corresponded to nitrogen doses (0, 35, 70 and 105 kg ha-1) and factor B moment of application in phenological stages (V1, V3, V6 and V9), with three repetitions. The data obtained were statistically evaluated by the F Test and the means were compared by the Tukey test at 5%, in addition the regression analysis was performed. The evaluated determinations were plant height, ear insertion height, ear length, ear diameter and corn grain yield. The result of the analysis in plant height and ear insertion height showed significance in the nitrogen dose, the other determinations were observed interactions between the factors and were adjusted to a quadratic equation. The combination of N doses with different phenological stages significantly increases maize yield.
