Abstract

Agriculture is vulnerable to climate change, so it is important to position climate change as a priority, because its negative effects threaten the continuity of life; it brings with it a rise in global temperature, melting glaciers, increased rainfall, more humidity and changes in the seasons of the climate. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of climate change on the production of the main agricultural products of the Puno-Peru Region, covering as period of analysis from 1996 to 2018, therefore, it corresponds to the quantitative approach, with non-experimental type of research, with descriptive and longitudinal research design; information from the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics, the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation was used; applying the econometric model of quadratic type. It was determined that rainfall has an effect of 26%, 92% and 76% on the production of quinoa, potato and barley; maximum temperature has an effect of 84%, 96% and 65% on the production of quinoa, potato and barley and in the case of minimum temperature has an effect of 88%, 92% and 73% on the production of quinoa, potato and barley. Finally, the optimum rainfall threshold is 657.97 mm, maximum temperature of 15.95°C and minimum temperature of 1.41°C on the production of quinoa; the optimum rainfall threshold is 774.770 mm, maximum temperature of 19.29°C and minimum temperature of 4.40°C.
