Natural disasters are constituted as a consequence of a wasteful use of natural resources causing a neglect within the sustainability of the environment, this generates an increase in social and natural risks that will affect the populations, which will be reflected in a gigantic expenditure for health services and control, to protect subsistence and housing. The objective of this study is to analyze the governmental impact on risk and disaster prevention investment projects during the period 2016-2022. For the analysis of the information, a documentary study supported by a literature review was conducted, first, the information collected was classified, then it was organized into content according to the categories analyzed excluding studies that did not provide information on the variable, then a critical analysis of the information about the investment projects of risk and disaster prevention was carried out according to the selected methodologies; 15 sources were considered for this study. It was concluded that adequate government management is also essential to ensure the sustainability of risk and disaster prevention projects. Long-term planning, impact assessment, and adequate resource allocation are critical to ensure that projects are effective in the long term and continue to protect communities from risks and disasters.
