Solid waste management represents a crucial environmental challenge, where effective planning and public investment are fundamental to address this growing problem in a sustainable way. The objective of this research is to explore and understand the dynamics of the relationship between solid waste management and public investment in municipalities in Peru. Methodologically, a literature review analysis was carried out and narrative was chosen as the research approach. The following criteria were established for the inclusion of the studies: a) original and review articles, b) Publications from 2017 c) Disseminated in Spanish and d) Available in open access. As a result, 39 documents were recovered and analyzed. It is concluded that efficient solid waste management is intrinsically linked to public investment, highlighting the crucial importance of strategic decisions to promote sustainable practices at the local level.
