Abstract

SALAZAR DEL BARRIO, Juan Carlos. The Long Bolivian May. Rev Cien Cult [online]. 2018, vol.22, n.40, pp.111-127. ISSN 2077-3323.

A journalistic chronicle that takes a national and international suggestive retrospective look at the sixties. It describes how the conglomeration of world political and ideological events -the French May revolt, the Vietnam War, the youth and racial conflicts in the United States, and the student uprisings in Mexico and Argentina- was received at a time when the country was living its own "long Bolivian May", with the fall, in May 1964, of the MNR, and the ensuing series of coups, guerrilla movements and leftist radicalization happening until 1970.
