Abstract

RASGADO RIOS, Fernando. A Cave that Tells us About the Past: the Bá cuana. Rev Cien Cult [online]. 2021, vol.25, n.47, pp.81-101. ISSN 2077-3323.  https://doi.org/10.35319/rcyc.2021471254.

In this article I present the results of a research work in which I am interested in recovering some experiences and forms of resistance of the Binni Yati of Asunción Ixtaltepec, Oaxaca, México, the community to which I belong. In this article I develop in particular the analysis of the Bá cuana cave, which is part of the heritage of my community and which is considered by its inhabitants, as well as by other communities, as a sacred space. It started from a dialogical hermeneutical perspective, considering that I am a member of the community. For the compilation of the information I resorted to ethnography and narrative. Among the results are that the Bá cuana is a space in which various aspects of Yati sociocultural life are concentrated, forming part of the memory of its inhabitants, who constantly refer to it as a sacred space and a link between the inhabitants. with a way of being bini yati.

Keywords : zapotecos; Bá cuana; resistance; cultural and material heritage.
