PUMA, Alejandra and CALDERON, Jorge. Integrated Pest Management and its Impact on Andean Weevil (Pest) and Diseases in Potato Crop. Rev. Cien. Tec. In. [online]. 2016, vol.12, n.13, pp.739-754. ISSN 2225-8787.
The research deals with the control of the Andean-Weevil-Prickly Pepes spp. and Rigopsidius piercei- in potato crops by the use of three traps and one control. At the end of the experiment it was proved that the trap or strategy 3 was the most efficient in the control of the weevil and that the witness, the traditional way of cultivation, proved to be the least efficient. Strategy one-passive, strategies two and three-active proved to be more effective than the witness. In conclusion the use of strategies, especially the third one, reduces considerably the damages and losses caused by the weevil in potato crops. The work includes the integrated pest management that consisted in the use of strategies, cultural work, and the use of green tag insecticides, was carried out in the municipality of Tarabuco, Department of Chuquisaca, Bolivia.
