Abstract

TORRICO VILLANUEVA, Erick R. The construction of political identities in the discourse of Evo Morales (2006-2016). Rev. aportes de la comunicación [online]. 2021, n.30, pp.9-28. ISSN 2306-8671.

Abstract This article examines the process of discursive construction of political identities in a set of addresses by former President Evo Morales between 2006 and 2016. Their methodological basis rests on the conceptions of critical discourse analysis and social semiosis. It provides an account of the organizing matrix and the components of the discursive process, as well as the effects of implied meaning. It concludes by identifying some characteristics, potentialities and limits of the discursiveness displayed by Morales, the main enunciator of the Movimiento al Socialismo.

Keywords : Discourse; political identities; power.
