Abstract
DALLA RIVA, Laura; LEHNEN STOLL, Sabrina and BERNARDO MILCHERT, Artur. La teoría de la ruptura metabólica y el colonialismo en latinoamérica: un análisis de las posibles raíces de la emergencia climática. Rev. Jur. Der. [online]. 2023, vol.12, n.19, pp.149-172. ISSN 2413-2810.
Abstract This research questions to what extent colonialism can be related to the deepening of the rupture in the metabolism between humanity and Nature and to the triggering of the climate changes faced today. A deductive approach and bibliographic procedure are adopted. Initially, we present the data that evidence the existence of the current climate emergency and studies that connect these problems to the capitalist mode of production through the theory of metabolic rupture. Next, the analysis of the original accumulation in the Latin-American colonial territories and how this process continues to develop today is deepened through extractivism. Finally, it focuses on the characterization of colonialism as a structural element of the global expansion of the capitalist mode of production, its role in deepening the metabolic disruption and triggering the climate emergency
