Abstract This article presents the design of type-1 T1FC and PID fuzzy controllers using the mathematical application software MatLab v. 15b, applied to a virtual model for didactic transposition within the IIIE. In this article, the controllers are used for the process of filling of water tanks, based on the virtual model for the control of water tanks oftered by the Control Station v.3.7® software, presenting the values and graphs obtained at the time of operation of each system with the designed controller. Special emphasis will be presented on the design of the type-1 fuzzy controller called T1FC based on the universe of discourse selected, the number of membership functions and the number of fuzzy rules that will be used for the inference carried out according to the Mamdani method and that this information useful in future research
