Abstract

OBREGON CASTILLO, Luis Renato. Teachers' training and performance at a private university in Lima. Horizontes Rev. Inv. Cs. Edu. [online]. 2024, vol.8, n.33, pp.859-871.  Epub Apr 02, 2024. ISSN 2616-7964.  https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v8i33.768.

Teacher training strengthens pedagogical skills, improving performance and favoring effective teaching. In the context of a private university in Lima, the influence of teacher training (TOT) on the performance of 100 teachers was determined using a correlational type of research. The instrument to measure CD included 22 items distributed in 3 dimensions. The teacher performance variable (DD) consisted of 15 items in 3 dimensions. The results revealed a significant positive relationship between CD and DD, supported by a coefficient of determination R2 of 0.553 at a significance level of α=0.05. Likewise, significant differences were identified between the various dimensions of CD and its performance. In conclusion, these findings underscore the importance of training in teachers' professional development, directly influencing their performance. In addition, it highlights the importance of effective training strategies for the quality of teaching.
