GONZALES DEL SOLAR, Jessica; OSORIO CASTILLO, Esther María y BERNAOLA MINANO, Luis Manuel. Design and management of virtual learning environments in higher education. Horizontes Rev. Inv. Cs. Edu. [online]. 2024, vol.8, n.33, pp.969-991. Epub 02-Abr-2024. ISSN 2616-7964. https://doi.org/10.33996/revistahorizontes.v8i33.777.
Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) are complex systems that integrate technological and pedagogical components to facilitate teaching and learning processes in face-to-face or hybrid environments. These environments allow for cooperative, collaborative, interactive, and adaptive knowledge construction, using digital resources and materials. The methodology followed the guidelines of Questions for Reporting and Systematic Review (PRISMA). This study addressed the characterization of design elements and management methods of VLEs in higher education, highlighting the need for phases such as design, structuring, and resource creation. The results offer a comprehensive view to enhance the planning, organization, and evaluation of the teaching-learning process in higher education contexts.
