ABSTRACT In the present work, aqueous cyanide has been eliminated by addition of H2O2 as oxidant agent, and by heterogeneous photocatalysis with titanium oxide activated with UV radiation. The titanium oxide was synthesized by Sol-Gel method and Atrane route, it was characterized by X-ray Diffraction, Physical adsorption of gas N2, Spectroscopy of Reflectance Diffuse UV-vis, Electronic Microscopy of Transmission. It was evaluated the effect of hydrogen peroxide quantity (%VH2O2/VCN- 0.1; 0.5; 1.0 and 3.0 %) for CN- elimination. The titanium oxide presents a high activity due its own structure-property relation: anatase crystalline phase, adequate crystalline microdomine sizes and high area superficial. Independent systems were evaluated for cyanide elimination: CN-UV, CN-UV/H2O2 y CN-UV/TiO2. Finally, a combined system CN-UV/H2O2/TiO2 was tested, which presents the faster elimination of cyanide compared with the independent systems
