Resumen

PEREZ ARGOLLO, Katia et al. Características fisicoquímicas de las aguas termales de Phutina, Puno, Perú. Rev. Bol. Quim [online]. 2024, vol.41, n.1, pp.1-5. ISSN 0250-5460.  https://doi.org/10.34098/2078-3949.41.1.1.

Physicochemical characteristics of the Phutina hot springs, Puno, Peru. The hot springs of southwestern Peru are found in carbonate rock aquifers with medical applications. The purpose of this research was to characterize the hot springs of Phutina, Puno, Peru. Water samples were collected from Phutina geothermal wells with major ions such as Na+, Ca2+, Cl- in addition to HCO-, CO3 2- in San Antonio de Putina district in Puno, Peru. Piper diagrams of the chemical types of the Phutina hot spring water samples were used with Na+, K+ (75%) and Cl- (60%), characteristic of hot spring waters, which are generally salubrious. The electrical conductivity (EC) values of Phutina hot springs were 3160 - 3184 µS/cm respectively. The hot springs have a high electrical conductivity which shows that it has interacted with the rock for a long time. The stratigraphic and structural framework of the Phutina hot springs is formed by a thick sequence of Cretaceous rocks.
