Resumen

LOPEZ VILLACIS, Isabel C.; SANTANA, Rita C.; ARTIEDA, Jorge R.  y  VASQUEZ, Carlos L.. Evaluación del potencial energético de biomasa residual agrícola como recurso energético renovable en Tungurahua, Ecuador. Rev. Bol. Quim [online]. 2024, vol.41, n.1, pp.14-23. ISSN 0250-5460.  https://doi.org/10.34098/2078-3949.41.1.3.

Agricultural waste has energy characteristics and is considered as renewable sources, through conversion processes such as combustion, they allow the obtaining of substitute energy for hydrocarbon energy. The residual agricultural biomass of potato (Solanum tuberosum), corn (Zea mays) and tree tomato (Solanum betaceum) crops was energetically evaluated as a renewable resource in the province of Tungurahua, Ecuador. The prospective crops with the greatest relevance in terms of biomass waste generated were established. A proximal analysis database was proposed. The calorific value and the amount of biomass were determined to calculate the energy potential for clean energy production. It was determined that tree tomato cultivation generates a greater amount of agricultural waste with 128.83 tn.ha/year, whose calorific value is 15010.15 MJ/tn. With these parameters, the energy potential was calculated, which was 0.54 GWh.

Palabras clave : Biomass; Agricultural Waste; Energy potential.
