At the present time there are 65 millions people around the Word, whom are been infected by the HIV/AIDS. In Bolivia 7000 people live infected with the virus, at Cochabamba city 2 percent of the population are in the paediatric age. The objective of this project is to identify the resources to make an specific diagnostic of HIV in children, which is the most frequent laboratory resource used for diagnostic, stag all the patients according to clinic and immunologic category; who and when to use antiretroviral treatment, identify the actual health status of the parents . We found 15 children infected with HlV during the last two years; 73% of them were suspected and diagnostic because of a direct maternal infection . We requested two laboratory test ( Elisa, W Blot) in children older than 18 months and we requested PCR, Viral Hoard for children younger than 18 months. Now, there is one children who was not infected by the virus, but was born from an infected mother and there are five children who receive antiretroviral treatment combined with clinic and immunologic category C2-C3.
