Abstract Rabies is an zoonotic and acute infectious, produced by the virus of the gender Lyssavirus of the Rhabdoviridae family, whose main source of transmission is the inoculation of the virus in the saliva of an infected animal to human. It is a deadly disease, have been reported cases by urban and rural cycles. The reported cases are in rural áreas of Cochabamba, with a clinical of four days duration. Both had hydrophobia, aerophobia, fever peaks and upper respiratory disorder, a history of dog bite four months, the first case by a stray dog and the second known without vaccines, in both patients were bites in their extremities. Cabinet and specific tests were performed for diagnosis. Confirming that cause encephalitis was rabiesvirus.
