Resumen

BARRIENTOS SALINAS, Alejandro  y  SILVA ARRATIA, Mariela A.. Lo más bonito y mis mejores años: The Oligoptic Perspective of an Emerging Cinema and the Spirit of an Era. Rev Cien Cult [online]. 2018, vol.22, n.41, pp.9-28. ISSN 2077-3323.

Based on contributions of the oligoptic perspective of rhizomatic actants, more often referred to as the “actor-network theory”, this work approaches a particular case of Bolivian 21st century digital cinema; specifically: the cinema proposal of Martin Boulocq’s debut film entitled Lo más bonito y mis mejores años (2005). This audiovisual piece, provides -among other things- the conception of the oligoptic perspective put forth by Bruno Latour, as opposed to the panopticism developed by Michel Foucault, revealing the emergence of a new perspective in Bolivian cinema, reflecting the spirit of an era marked by the toppling of the great truths, the fall of ideological paradigms, frustration, lack of meaning, and the enticing abyss. The present article deals with a generation of filmmakers who no longer concentrate their sights on the life of “others”, but rather seek to see themselves, with their limitations and nostalgias, in an intuitive effort towards a performative act, resorting to audiovisual means as an accomplice of emerging cinema in the 21st century.

Palabras clave : oligoptic perspective; panopticism; perspective; Bolivian cinema; actor-network theory; spirit of an era.
